April 12, 201313 yr Hello everybody, sorry for my english i'm from France ! I'll try to explain my problem : When i push TCAS test button there is nothing, no sound, etc...but on my MFD's there is a red cross. I do not know what to do if a charitable soul through here to give me an answer ... Best regards.
April 12, 201313 yr Have you waited? The TCAS test takes a while. Also, the IRS systems both need to be aligned. Name available upon request
April 12, 201313 yr With IRS aligned and location input into the FMC the TCAS test should either annunciate TCAS SYSTEM TEST FAIL or TCAS SYSTEM TEST OK. If neither of these happen either you have missed a step in preparation before switching it on, or something is not right,. James Bennett
April 12, 201313 yr Author Thank you for your answers, I'll try again I think I look good alignment of the IRS (I set fast 30 seconds)! I see on the MFD once IRS alignment is the red cross appears immediately, although I also ALIGNMENT IRS in FMC ... I'm a little lost on the solutions that I have! Is there a particular setting to the FMC that I forgot too?
April 12, 201313 yr monsterman, for the sakes of being courteous, the rules of this PMDG Forum, as was just reiterated by Randazzo today, is that you state your name. Besides, it is probably not polite to refer to you as Monsterman, and if they want, they can take your post out. That done with, to help you, can you please post some screenshots of what you see, as some of us do not speak French, but through a screenshot may well comprehend what your issue is? Merci Rick Almeida
April 12, 201313 yr Author sorry if I offended some people! I understand if I have to change my name? To advance in my problem, I just did a test tonight by loading a saved flight in the FMC (flight takeoff near) so normally if I do a test it should work out TCAS it nothing happens! and I still have the famous red cross in the MFD! To vc10man, i read tow times your comment and i understand now, i'll go change my personnal informations ! THKS
April 12, 201313 yr sorry if I offended some people! I understand if I have to change my name? No need to say sorry. You have not offended anyone. Relax. Please explain this screenshot. It makes no sense at all. Your altitude is showing as set for 10000 feet, yet it looks that you are at 400 feet ASL. You have no take-off speeds set as per the FMC,,,,,,,,etc.....etc. In short, have you done one of the Tutorial Flights because this is not a screen you should be seeing? Rick Almeida
April 13, 201313 yr Author vc10man thank you to you, I'll start trying to be more clear, but this is not obvious because I use google translate! If I start my flight cold and dark, I apply the procedure start (I think correctly).1 - Battery switch: ON2 - if one pomp operating APU3 - starting APU (wait for it to stabilize)4 - Left and right on IRS NAV5 - Once the IRS I aligned between my position in the FMCI see on the MFD as the red cross appears directly! if I did a test TCAS it nothing happens on the MFD and announcement or sound (TCAS TEST SYSTEM OK / FAIL)In doubt that my procedure is wrong, I load the state of the aircraft: ready to taxi (my screenshoot)Normally everything is ok? and of course the MFD you can see that the red cross is already present!Hoping to have been more clear, I thank you again for your answers.cordially
April 13, 201313 yr monsterman, I seriously think you need to do a Tutorial, at least one of them. Rick Almeida
April 13, 201313 yr Well for a start I would not load a saved flight! I always start fresh. TCAS test takes at least 15 seconds and is finished with the statement "TCAS Test Passed". April 13, 201313 yr vc10man thank you to you, I'll start trying to be more clear, but this is not obvious because I use google translate! If I start my flight cold and dark, I apply the procedure start (I think correctly). 1 - Battery switch: ON 2 - if one pomp operating APU 3 - starting APU (wait for it to stabilize) 4 - Left and right on IRS NAV 5 - Once the IRS I aligned between my position in the FMC Don't start the APU until you've set standby power to auto and bus transfer to auto. I'd echo the comments that you need to do the tutorial or find a good video to learn the procedures from. James Bennett
April 13, 201313 yr I think I remember this issue coming up a few times already.... I don't really have the time to search for it right now, but it should be in the NGX sub forum. Name available upon request
April 13, 201313 yr Hello monsterman, Some parts in french for monsterman... for a tuto in french, you can find at this place (tu trouvera un tuto sur le NGX ici): http://jeanmirichard.hostoi.com/ And for your name: Il faut signer tes posts de ton vrai nom, inutile de changer monsterman, juste signer de ton vrais nom. Sorry for the french parts but if this can help... Jean-Michel Richard
April 13, 201313 yr That's great Jean-Michel. Don't quite know where you are from, but I wish that was one language I had made the effort to learn. Hopefully, now that you have joined this thread, monsterman, can be helped on his way. Rick Almeida
April 13, 201313 yr Thanks Rick, In fact, I come from belgium (EBSP) and as monsterman, french is my native then... For the english it's more dificult, just a school english, but i try to... Hope to help you, and Thx to all for your understanding... Jean-Michel Richard
