Hi Folks

I've had radar Contact 4 for 3 months, and I think it's a great program. However I've encountered a couple of problems over the past week concerning the Pilot Auto Reply.

Aircraft is PMDG 737NGX

Flight plan per FSBuild

 

I have both boxes checked for "Pilot Auto Reply" and "Tune On Contact".    I loaded a FS Build plan, KRNO-KLAX,and RC advised "cleared  to RWY 34L and hold short", which I did.  I was then told to "Monitor tower", but the Pilot Auto Reply did not ack, and " Monitor Tower" did not appear on the Menu Display. I pressed the appropriate keys to have the instruction repeated, which the controller did, but again no ack and no "Monitor Tower" on menu display. After waiting  5 mins, I moved onto the runway and took off, expecting a "WHAT ARE YOU DOING" from ATC, but I was told to "contact departure", and the rest of the flight was normal.

 

A few days later, on a flight from KLAS -KLAX, everything went well until on Final, when I was told to "Contact Tower". The Pilot Auto Reply did not ack, and "Tower" did not appear on the Menu display. I landed the PMDG 737NGX, and there was no "What're You Doing" from ATC.

I hope someone can tell me what is wrong, and if it's something stupid I have done/not done, I apologise for taking your time.

the only way to diagnose this, would be to make a log, instructions are pinned to the top of the forum. be sure to click debug before loading the .pln

 

the pilot auto-reply, does just that, just acknowledges. it's not going to do much else.

 

you can't ask for the clearance to be repeated, since the copilot has already acknowledged the clearance.

 

you have to be a certain distance from the end of the runway, before the contact tower option is available. not much sense to give it to you at the gate.

 

regardless, make a log, send it to me, and i'll see what is going on. be sure to click debug before loading the .pln, and just a zip file, not a 7z or a rar or some other proprietary zip format. just right mouse click, send to compressed folder, and email me the zip file.

Thanks for your reply. Perhaps I didn't make myself clear in my post.

 

I didn't ask for the clearance to be repeated.  The copilot did not acknowledge the "monitor tower" instruction which was given when the aircraft was at the Runway Holding Position Markings...and the "monitor tower" did not display on the Menu Display. I'm assuming that I was at the correct position, otherwise I wouldn't have been told to "Monitor tower"...certainly wasn't at the gate:-)

 

Similarly, when on final to KLAX, the "Contact tower" instruction was not acknowledged by the copilot, nor did the "Tower" option appear on the Menu Display.

 

I'm wondering if this may have been some sort of a glitch?, as I have made numerous flights since my last post with no problem at all. I will however send you a log should the problems recur.
