Temperature issues in the NGX

Featured Replies

Hi, i've been having some weirdness with OAT readings in the NGX. it seems like it is adding around 20C to the expected temperature. When i'm cruising at 38000 feet for example i'm getting temps around -30C instead of the expected -50C. it seems like it affects climb performance a bit as well, particularly when i'm still at 10C even when hitting 20000+ feet.

at first i thought it was an active sky issue but it also happens with rex and the default weather. and other aircraft (the 377 and the q400) both seem to get the correct readings which makes me wonder if somehow it is ngx-specific.

strange, isn't it? has anyone else seen an issue like this? it's beem a few months since the last time i flew it but i'm almost positive that it used to work fine... so i can't really figure out why anything would have changed. i noticed that the font for my pressurization setting gauge doesn't look like an LED anymore so maybe something got corrupted in my install?

cheers

Hi.

I had this issue. Please check this topic. That was exactly my problem. I had high OAT and very slow rate of climb. I have REX, AS2012 and OpusFSX. Maybe you have the same issue.

Are you sure you're not confusing total air temperature (TAT) with outside air temperature (SAT/OAT)?

ahahhahaa! thanks, yup it is user error lol.. for some reason i thought it was an OAT reading but upon closer inspection it does say TAT.
