[RESOLVED] Exclude certain AVSIM Forums from View New Content?

Featured Replies

How do I exclude certain AVSIM Forums when I select View New Content? I have gone into Board Face where it says you can exclude but it does not seem to work even after I log out and back in.

Thanks,

 Bob

I just did a little test on it Bob and it worked without logging out.  I selected a just posted topic, went to the board face and clicked on that forum name to exclude it, selected save changes, then went back and checked and the topic was gone.  I reversed that then the topic re-appeared.  You can also select more than one topic by holding down control and selecting as many forums as you like to not show.  Hope that helps some.

Well gentlemen I have tried every combination possible and I still ALWAYS get the X-Plane General Discussion Forum included when I do View New Content.

Here is a link to box.net which contains a screen shot of what I have tried to exclude: https://www.box.com/s/doo57o7gl9r70bb0z80n

Any other insight would be appreciated.

Thanks,

 Bob

Exclude the CATEGORY (the top X-plane entry) and only high light the actual forums.

I again tried it with only the Forums highlighted for exclusion and am still getting it:

results: https://www.box.com/s/d0pl12st7vmdh49iktmk

settings: https://www.box.com/s/r8lbu2qx01x2iypuay2a

I am at a loss as to what is ocurring. If there are other postings in the X-Plane forums, they are NOT showing up..............

Okay, I think we have a COMMS problem. You are excluding topics from the BOARD FACE LISTING, but you are looking at the actual FORUM's MOST RECENT function. They are not the same. Excluding topics from the BOARD FACE listing does exactly that; exclude them from showing up in the BOARD FACE listing. That has nothing to do with the MOST RECENT function that you show as your topics list (BOARD FACE draws upon MOST RECENT to show more recent topics, but it does not remove topics you have selected in its admin panel EXCLUDE LIST from the MOST RECENT list).

Thanks for your patience. I now understand the difference between Board Face and Filter Forums. It works as you indicated and it was definitely a COMMS problem!! :clapping:
