October 3, 200421 yr Ok, I want to finally get an AI program. I don't want to mess around for hours setting it up. I do however want some good looking AI planes and realistic schedules and I am willing to download/pay for whatever is necessary. What is better, Ulitmate Traffic or MyTraffic? Is there another program out there? Is Project AI an "all-inclusive" program as well?I have already downloaded a bunch of Afcads for my commercial addon scenery, I assume once I get one of the above programs installed, I just drop that AFCAD into the scenery folder and away I go or do I have to setup parking spots and such? Many thanks for any input and help. Eric
October 3, 200421 yr Look at this comparison by Andrew Herd. It is for FS2002, but applies to FS2004 as well.http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds?$=main/re...traf/mytraf.htmI use Ultimate traffic and really like it. I haven't used MyTraffic. We are lucky to have two programs to choose from.Good Luck,Scott
October 3, 200421 yr I like Mytraffic because of the more GA aircraft and even some military.Ultimate Traffic use real flight schedules though if that
October 3, 200421 yr If you don't want to mess around setting things up then forget Project AI, I found it a royal pain. I too am in the market for and AI package, I'm leaning toward Ultimate, the guys at flight one are ptetty cool.Guy
October 4, 200421 yr Author This has been much discussed--you might search previous posts in the forums. The standard view is that MyTraffic has the advantage of having GA planes. UT, on the other hand, has real world flight schedules.I use UT and it has several nice features. First, of course, it does what it advertises very well. Excellent schedules and accuracy with reasonable quality models and repaints. Your commercial airports all over the world will be full of accurate AI aircraft.UT has the extra advantage that it can serve as an AI organization utility. You can very easily replace the UT aircraft with others or add on aircraft or airlines that UT does not have (the smaller airlines and odd aircraft). This "organization" feature is built right into the program--you use the professional graphic user interface to do all this AI aircraft and airline management. Further, the Flight One forums are useful sources of information and help. The product is pretty mature by now, so there are not too many things coming up that haven't been solved. These folks have been terrific. If you want GA, then you might also look at Markus Brunner's GA-Traffic. This is a freeware program (look here at AVSIM) but it is really first class. My highest recommendation on this program. (You will have to do a little work to make the program function, but not much.)Hope you enjoy your AI traffic.Best,Mike --Mike MacKuen
