May 6, 201313 yr I'm running Win 8 on a Dell XPS 8500 i7-3770 w/ 8 Gig of ram. Installed FSX Gold and 737NGX on a separate SSD. Latest version of FSUIPC installed. Uiautomationcore.dll installed in FSX root. Turned off Hyperthreading. When I bring up the 737NGX at EGKK to start tutorial #1, I keep having problems with the FMC. After pressing the DEPARR button to set up the departure information, the system displays the busy "circle" and then the sim pauses. I press "P" to unpause the sim and go about programming the FMC. Sometimes when switching various views in the FMC, the sim will again pause. Pressing "P" usually causes the sim to resume, but sometimes I have to cycle views, bring up the task manager or cuss loudly to get control back. Once I checked cpu usage and found core 0 at 100%, core 1 varying about 50%, core 2 varying about 40% and core 3 varying about 30%. I never have been successful in completing the flight to EHAM although I have come close. I also notice that after the sim has hung (paused), the autopilot will not engage or only engages after some flight time has passed. It seems to me that something in the FMC (CDU) code doesn't like something in Win 8 and the subsequent code developed by the FMC inputs isn't valid. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Thanks in advance, Jim Driskell PS - Maybe I should uninstall everything and start over but I consider this action as the last resort. James M Driskell, Maj USMC (Ret)
May 7, 201313 yr There is an option in the PMDG menu to disable the pause. That option would be about the pause at top of descent, but nothing related to your problem. You might wanna open a support ticket with PMDG. So long, Oliver Oliver Branaschky Oliver Branaschky
