Versions of X-plane

Featured Replies

I tried the demo and was pleased to see that X-plane is redy to become a replacement for FSX. Now I'm looking in (Google) to the purschase options, and I see some different prices and 'versions'...but is there any difference?

I see a x-plane for € 49,99, a X-plane Europe for €69,99 and a X-plane Global for €79,99

Is there really a difference? I'd like to fly Europe mainly but also some US tracks (West- and Eastcoast).

Basically, when you launch the X-Plane installer, after selecting where to install it etc. you get a window asking which parts of the world you want to install scenery for. Difference is that X-Plane 10 Global, ships with all the scenery for around the world, be that North and South America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Then the 49€ version, i presume is for North America, X-.plane Europe for europe scenery and Global for all of it.

I'd say if you really really dont want to fly anywhere else BUT the region you choose, buy global. If you change your mind, you gotta buy the other version of x-plane and that will cost you.

So buy Global, definitely :)

the cheaper version is only: Canada, USA, ALASKA, HAWAII

Thanks fellas....I know what to get then :)

I'm off again, checking to see what other goodies I can find in XP :)

For me, a nice ATC program like VoxATC would be a 'must have'

TrafficAI would also be a 'like to have'

PMDG going XP is a 'must have'

FS2Crew integration with such a PMDG XP plane is a 'must have'

I'm not sure right now if add-on hardware like the MCP Combo is supported. Time to find out soon ;)

At this time, there is nothing like VoxATC for X-Plane 10. The on-board ATC is rudimentary at best. I never use it personally. I'd be really surprised if no third party developers take a look at implementing ATC for XPX.

I'm almost certain a lot of projects are being kept secret, as we all know first to market gets control of the limited floorspace.
