Moving pmdg 747 files to new computer

Featured Replies

so i got a new computer and installed fsx on there. I was able to move most of my payware over easily via a flashdrive. I put the files in the airplane folder and ran fsx. All of my payware ran prefectly except the pmdg planes. As soon as I clicked on the plane to select it in the preflight menu, fsx just stopped and quit. Is there some verification process i have to go through to register the pmdg payware on my new computer?

k yeah thats what i though but copy and paste had worked with all my other pay ware. From where do i get the installer. I got the pmdg 747 a year ago if not more so my memory is really bad.

You either bought it on a CD, in which case you have to run the CD, or you downloaded it from PMDG.  If you did download it and saved the installation file you need to run that -- it will probably ask for a key you received when you bought it.  If you don't have the installer file, you need to contact PMDG.  I believe there is a small charge for a re-download.

If you only have enough space on your hard drive, it's good to keep all the installer packages in one place or do like me and buy a few USB memory sticks. You'll get them rather cheap nowadays. Also stores like Simmarket keep a list of all your purchased products and let you download them anytime you want. It's always a good idea to install them again with their own installer.
