May 19, 201313 yr For those who like to fly about the Netherlands, Europe, there’s currently, using X-Plane’s default ground textures, not much fun with. While living in the middle of the province Flevoland, the default ground textures are far from real, but this is the same for all other Dutch locations. For Microsoft Flight Simulator FSX you’ve got NL2000 with their photo real scenery, but for X-Plane there’s now SimHeaven. They recently updated an almost complete set with ZL 17 (Zoom Level). Zoom Level 17 offers ground tiles with an approximate resolution of 1.2 m/pixel which is ideal for VFR flights. You can check it out at the dedicated SimHeaven ZL17 NED web page. When I’ve got this weekend some time, I’ll make some short cross-country flights above the Netherlands for you, using SimHeaven. And, almost forgotten … it’s FREE! http://asn-xp.aerosoft.com/?p=2551
May 19, 201313 yr it's also traffic compatible: cars and trains work on this amazing photo real scenery....Amsterdamn it's awesome
May 19, 201313 yr Looks promising, but is there plently of autogen? Not keen on the usual flat photoscenery type of thing.
May 19, 201313 yr Looks promising, but is there plently of autogen? Not keen on the usual flat photoscenery type of thing. I was too high when I took pics, the buildings are in 3D(most of them) and road traffic works.
May 19, 201313 yr but is there plently of autogen? If the you want even more precise building placement they also have OSM downloads available, it is supposed to be very robust for most of Europe.
