TBM 850 windows

Recommended Posts

I noticed on the Carenado model that the Pilot's side window is much smaller than the co-pilot's side window.

Is that normal in the real TBM 850 or a bug?

The stuff you people notice surprises even me. Dam good eyes!

Sometimes the Pilot side will be the only side with heated windshield, like the Piper Malibu/Meridian for example. The electronic heater elements add a "boarder", and reduce the viewing area.

(although this is only an example, and not applicable to the TBM)

IIRC, the Pilot door is an Option in the order of 750,000.00

Yes.. Seven hundred and fifty thousand.

AKA, if you slam my pilot door... I'll break every bone in you body!

Do you know why it's 750k?

No, but I assume there is allot of structure mods involved, and the added headache of it also being a pressure door.

CORRECTION: 75,000 - seventy five thousand - NOT 750K  I had one to many zeros... Although I think I'd still be a bone crusher even as that price!

Interesting.

Yeah 75k sounds more "reasonable", if your buying a 850 I'm sure another 75l wouldn't break the bank

wouldn't break the bank

True!  Looking at "options" from all the manufactures... they really hike up those prices for those. 48,000 for TCAS in a Meridian for example... or 10K for a storm scope.. 4 grand for "safe taxi"...

Full "options" can add almost another million in some cases.,, Just like cars! LOL.
