Looking for an Addon

Featured Replies

Hey! Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, I'm new here :).
I absolutely love a plane type. The old twin prop, with a split tail. I think it looks really cool.

I'm talking about planes like the Lockheed model 10, 12 & 14 and the Beechcraft D 18.
Sadly, I can't seem to find any good addons for it.

Does anyone of you know of any of good quality?

Welcome to Avsim!

Here you go for the Beechcraft, it's the only FSX native version I've found, Mr Shupe, who developed this one actually developed a great variety of superb aircraft for FS9, among those also some Beech 18s (e.g. on floats etc.), which are all usable in FSX without problems, except maybe you're using DX10. In case you're interested just search flightsim.com or the Avsim library for "Milton Shupe".

I can't help you with the other ones, though.

The link doesn't seem to work for me. I like a lot of Shupe's work, I'll look into it. I have DX10 enabled in my display menu, what do I lose/gain by disabling it?

That looks good! Is it worth the money? Do you like the VC? I often fly from the VC only, so it's good to know.

Cockpit shadows and better water for one. I stay away from any addons that don't work in DX10, easier that way.

I'm sorry, for the dead link, it doesn't work for me anymore, either. Anyways, you'll just have to search for "Milton Shupe Beechcraft 18" at flightsim.com, and you'll find it.

As for the problem with DX10: I've seen some screenshots, where parts of the VC are not displayed correctly, but rather shimmering blue with the MSFSX logo appearing every few inches...

@Hocki If you are going to fly the Beech a lot, the FlySimWare version has more in-depth systems simulation and the VC is better than Milton's. Tough call on the price/value equation for me as I got it on sale for 1/2 price.

Yeah, that explains why the whole cocpit was colored blue, with the FSX logo. :)

Ok, I'll think about it then.

Hi I am interested in the Beech D18 also and downloaded the Shupe version and purchased the Flysimware. Shupe's is excellent for a freeware, but as others have said the Flysimware model has a great VC with 3D instruments and the systems depth is very good. However, I have a question: I can't find the fuel gauge. There is a gauge that is labelled "TENTHS FUEL" - one on the pilot and a second on the copilot's panel. However, these gauges stay at zero and never move. Can anyone help here?

By the way, I am flying this plane in P3D2, installed with the EMT.
