June 8, 201312 yr Not sure why but when flying I can see the scenery load and just magically appear. Do you think it's because I need to defrag my HDD? I have my fsx installed on my 2nd HDD and its a 3TB drive and I have about 20gb left, which is seriously running low on space. Since I keep everything on this drive. Not sure if defragging is even possible or will improve my results in fsx at this moment since I have hardly any space left. Let me know if defragging will fix these annoying pop up issues or if the cause has to do with a fsx.cfg setting such as buffer pools, reject threshold, etc. ASUS ROG Maximus Hero XII ▪︎ Intel i9-10900K ▪︎ NVIDIA RTX 3090 FE ▪︎ 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro ▪︎ Windows 10 Pro (21H1) ▪︎ Samsung 970 EVO Pro 1TB NVME SSD (OS Drive) ▪︎ Samsung 860 EVO 2TB SATA SSD ▪︎ Seagate 4TB SATA HDD ▪︎ Corsair RMx 850W PSU
June 8, 201312 yr Defragging is highly recommended. Windows does it in the background. When flying, scenery loads depending on the LOD_Radius in your FSX.cfg and appears. So, I don't understand the problem. That's what you want it to do right? Bufferpool settings help FSX if you are flying low through the mountains. Bush country. If you are flying high over scenery, then the setting does not help much and it does not work for all systems. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource!
