June 10, 201312 yr I am new to Opus but I understand that updated versions are constantly being introduced which is great and I understand that to download the updated version you have to unistall the current version. Please forgive my ignorance but what do I uninstall? In my C Disc I have 2 folders for OPus Software and for Opus Fsx. Is it the Opus Fsx folder that I uninstall or do I go the Programmes and Features and just uninstall Opus Fsx for FSX. I apologise if the answer is obvious. Many thanks. Michael Michael Broom
June 10, 201312 yr Commercial Member Just uninstall OpusFSX via Control Panel, Uninstall a Program, do not delete your OpusFSX folder containing your camera and system configuration files. Also do not delete the Opus Software folder since this contains your licence files. Cheryl Do not touch or alter your c:\Opus Software folder as this contains your license key and lic file. When you uninstall OpusFSX the uninstall will remove all necessary files within your OpusFSX folder ready for you to install the next release or beta version.Stephen
June 10, 201312 yr I was also nervous Michael after joining the OPUS club and making my first update to a newer release. I thought for sure I'd screw something up, but it's extremely easy. I use CC Cleaner to go in and delete OPUS through tools>uninstall, then go into my dedicated OPUS downloads folder where I keep the last 4-5 releases to install the latest version. I can probably do it blindfolded now  Chris Sunseri
June 10, 201312 yr Commercial Member Release Version 3.1 will be posted soon, just as soon as the current betas have had an airing. So you can practice with that one unless you fancy taking part in the beta dev cycles. You can keep abreast of the current release and betas by following our SimForums Announcements, a few other interesting topics such as Coming Soon, Wish List, Flight Planning Assistant, etc. can also be found there. Regards Stephen
June 10, 201312 yr Author Thanks Stephen, Do you know how soon version 3.1 will be released. Your software is brilliant. Michael Michael Broom
June 10, 201312 yr Commercial Member Thanks for the kind comment, we're both glad you enjoy it. I am hoping to post Release Version 3.1 in a few days time. We have completed the first phase of dev for the Flight Plan Assistant including the En Route Weather Reports, improved the accuracy of the destination weather at distance internally within the sim (its accurate to over 400 miles in the Opus weather map but we managed to stretch the FSX accuracy out from about 50km to over 240km). We have lately been correcting and tweaking few things with the new features in prep for the release. Then we will continue with the Beta Dev Cycle, starting on the next phase for the FP Assistant, this will include the OpusFlightReport.txt file and hopefully an En Route Summary Weather Report for display on the screen.
