June 12, 201312 yr Tonight I decided to dust off Instant Scenery a powerful little tool from Flight 1 that let's you quickly and painlessly insert scenery into FSX. Rather than enhance existing airfields, I literally slewed my aircraft to a random field near the small town of Harlowton (Wheatland County) in Montana (part of the Orbx CRM scenery), and just start building from scratch! After 1 hour, I had created by new home..... "Dave's Place" It has no icao code, but as long as the weather is good I can find it by flying 6.5nm due south from KHWQ, close to Baxters Airstrip (MT82). Anyway, here are the pics. Click the pics to see them at full size:
June 13, 201312 yr I might just have to get that and create my own place haha! Excellent work it looks really cool. Regards, Jeremy Chesney
June 13, 201312 yr Thanks guys - it's so addictive! You can make some fantastic little airstrips (not to mention the editing you can do of existing or larger areas). Instant Scenery accesses all of your objects libraries, hence if you have things like Orbx installed, you get to use all the fantastic objects in the library. (Of course this does mean you cannot release the work, as those that don't own the Orbx libraries etc wouldn't see the scenery..... You can use only default FSX objects too, and then share the resulting BGL and your creations could then be shared. My next challenge is to make a small summer home (+strip) near Sun Valley, ID. B)
June 13, 201312 yr Does the SDK have to be installed to use it and make the airports? I have always had an issue making the SDK work for me. Sent from my Apple communications device. William Sequeira
June 13, 201312 yr (...) My next challenge is to make a small summer home (+strip) near Sun Valley, ID. B) How about 'Dave's airplane'? Seems just so logical after 'Dave's Soundpacks' and 'Dave's Place' ... What happened to AVSIM
June 13, 201312 yr Wicked cool idea and very nice work indeed. Dan George (woodhick)Check out Greenbrier Aero Club, the VA for and about the GA pilot.
June 13, 201312 yr Thanks guys. :good: Does the SDK have to be installed to use it and make the airports? I have always had an issue making the SDK work for me. No, nothing additional needs to be installed. Just install Instant Scenery and you're off.... add any scenery object that's installed on your system, any where in the FSX world; and it's all done 'in sim'. You save your work as a BGL which you then add to the Scenery Library in the normal way (via storing it in "Addon Scenery") and that's it; your creations are now part of your FSX world. Here's "Dave's Summer Place" (non ICAO) which is near Dillon, Montana, close to the Idaho border. (a great place for fishing ) Click for full size:
