Old fashioned it may be ... memory is cheap these days and Ram Disc IS quicker than SSD's.

My fs2004 has grown to more than 120 GByte Harddisc SSD exclusive real estate. As for the ram-disc: I don't think there is a PC mainboard that supports as much of RAM. My sim btw runs stutterless and smooth. The SSD made the start-up of the sim very fast, reloading scenery data goes unnoticable fast. I am very satified with this solution.
