My night time clouds look like crap. They are okay when the moon is up, but when the moon sets, the gradients between shades become very stark and obvious - picture attached.

 

Is there any way to fix this - increasing a shade or color pallet or something like that?

I would think this has to do with the night cloud textures you are using. Night clouds in FSX no matter what textures leaves much to be desired imo.

 

You could try different shade presets with Mogwaisoft Shade, which may darken it up a bit.

Mine does the same - I believe it's our monitors.

Make sure FSX and your desktop are set to run in 32 bit color.

Been doing that since day 1.

I believe you nailed it Ryan. I decided to run a monitor calibration and my settings were really out of whack. I had the brightness, vibrance and gamma all cranked up and the contrast down so my darks were brightened up too much exposing the cloud gradients I had no business seeing.

Out of curiosity, which calibration program did you use?

Nothing fancy. I used the built-in Windows 7/8 'Calibrate display color' application (you can search that string under Control Panel) under control panel. It's basic, but it'll get you in the ballpark.
