Can't tune in ATIS

Featured Replies

I am flying the Carenado Archer and tried to tune in the ATIS for my local airport which is 111.6 according to an approach plate. It won't let me tune in the frequency. It keeps jumping from 118 the lowest to 132. It will only tune in in a NAV frequency window. Any ideas how to get an ATIS for KAVP?  Thanks.  Tom

111.6 is definitely not the correct ATIS freq, at least not in FSX, because those below 118.000(or somthing like that, at least) are navigation frequencies ( i.e. VORs or ILS/LOC).

Take a look at the FSX default map, it'll show the correct freq.

Looks like the LVZ VOR is 4.2nm away, and it's frequency is 111.60.  Whether or not it works in FSX, you would tune in the VOR into your nav equipment (nav 1 or nav 2) and press the nav audio button on the audio panel to listen to the voice transmitted over the VOR frequency.

HIWAS isn't modeled in FSX (wx over the VOR).

Only AWOS, ASOS, and ATIS.

In real world, the WX ASOS, 20 miles SE is on 120.275
