Why do framerates increase after FSX has stood idle for a while?

Featured Replies

Let me explain. I start FSX, it's tweaked with the basics i.e. HIMEMFIX, BUFFERPOOLS and I'm using FS Assist to great advantage. I am also running in DX10. Okay, when I start FSX I'm getting maybe 6/7 FPS, but if I let it rest for a while my framerate creeps up to 17FPS and stays there!

Same kind of thing here. If I visit the menus and then return to flight, my frame drops to around 20 then after about 10 seconds or so returns to my locked 30. No idea why, I guess I just live with it now.

PC catching up with FSX ??

If it's only 10 seconds or so, it may be your mouse pointer.  FSX takes a real hit while the the mouse pointer is shown over it.

it has to render all data

always pan a couple of times round the aircraft so the scenery can load

then you will not have artificials or flashes anymore
