Version Check

Featured Replies

How can one verify which version (SP or not) of NGX is installed?

I purchased mine a few days back and when I tried to install SP, installer notified me that SP was already installed. Dates on the installers for the main package and the SP are the same, leading me to believe I do indeed have SP installed, but I'd like to confirm that.

The reason I'm asking is that I'm seeing some FSX freezes when using FMC on descent that were, according to the messages here in the forum, fixed by SP.

Thanks!

If you bought it only a few days ago, you have the current version.  PMDG places the latest version on the market.  The SPs are only for those who bought it before the updates went out.  If the installer says you have it already, then don't need to worry about it.  This would make sense, yes?

If you really want to check, you can probably find it through the FMC in the PMDG Settings menu (there's an "About" section somewhere in there).  It may also be in the aircraft.cfg (FSX folder -> SimObjects -> Airplanes -> [One of the NGX folders] -> Aircraft.cfg.)

Oh silly me, of course it is in the FMC :-)

I was pretty sure i had SP1c, but I always work under the assumption I am doing something incorrect when I try to find the problems… and this FMC freezing is somewhat unnerving ;-)

Thanks for the pointer.

Haha - I honestly just thought of it as I started typing.  My first thought was the aircraft.cfg, but I figured the FMC would be easier if it's in there.
