Carenado Centurion

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me the reason I might be having this little problem. When ever I fly the Centurion and have my throttle in idle the engine shuts down. I have pulled my throttle to idle right before landing and had the engine quit. Not bad because the landing was easily made but I had to restart the engine to get off the runway. Also happens while sitting on the ramp. Happens with two different joysticks. I have not updated to FS9 on my laptop but have on my desktop computer. Happens on both machines. Thanks for any help

This can happen at higher altitude airfields or during high density altitude operation. The only solution is to lean the mixture according to best power settings. This problem can affect you without your consent especially when you have "auto-mixture" enabled. Hope this helps. Also be sure that you have the updated 2004 model.

Thanks for the reply.Well I never use automixture and I lean as appropriate. Has happened to me at KMRY and that is quite close to sea level.I am sure I dowloaded the appropriate model. I will check again though. I hope I can get to the bottom of this. Thanks again

There's an aircraft.cfg fix to this issue--can't recall the specific engine parameter but I believe it's min_throttle something....You need to change it from 0, which it is likely set at, to a number high enough to keep the engine going without the aircraft inching forward--takes a bit of trial and error. Sorry to say I don't have an aircraft.cfg handy at the moment for the exact name of the entry, but you should be able to find it.It also seems FS2004 is a bit more sensitive to this entry than FS2002...-John

AndrewTry a re-install if you haven't already. I've had a few (less than five) airfiles and model files that showed signs of corruption post-9.1 patch. A re-install cured it.BobL

Thanks to everyone that applied. I adjusted the throttle setting to 0.1 and so far so good. Only problem now FS locks out during a flight. Same thing on two computers again. I am closing to giving up. I really like this plane but whats the point if I cant complete a flight. I will try a reinstall and if it happens then thats the end of trying.

I just downloaded it about 2 days ago so I imagine if it was patched it's in there. Thanks

I'm not sure about that. You might want to try the patch. I can't remember if Carenado updates their download files or not.
