What Remains to be Fixed?

Featured Replies

I've been following the DX10 progress and plan to try it once Paul's program is out. So, what DX10 issues/incompatibilities will remain after that? It's been so long since I tried DX10, I can't recall the problems.

Head over to Steve Parson's site, he's the one working on the DX-10 fix and is the developer of the utility that will install onto your system.  Make sure you read Steve's recent post's as well as the archives below.

Paul has been working closely with Steve for a while now and is beta testing the utlity, his invaluable insight into PC's and FSX has made DX-10 palpable for many of us.  It's all getting pretty close to being perfect.

Thanks Rob!! I do NOT want to be blamed for Steve's incredible work in getting FSx's DX10 code working as it should!!! One other gentleman is also beta testing - moreso the European (Aerosoft) (I think) scenery's, but it's all Steve.

My role is to ensure that the folks who are trying DX10 for the first time, or using DX10 and have questions, are helped as needed, and that any folks interested in the DX10 mode are aware of the benefits of DX10, how it compares to DX9, and just how far Steve has gone.

Sorry, didn't mean to take credit away from Steve's great work. Reading through the blog, it seems that most of the major issues are resolved, but there are still things like aircraft shadows that are not 100 percent yet. Still, I'll probably give it a try soon.
