August 4, 201312 yr Hello all. I have just spent forever getting rid of the light triangles that are displayed on the ground in fog and at night on my current fleet of AI aircraft. Do these AI models display light triangles? I'd hate to go through all that work again LOL. Regards Nic Jackson
August 5, 201312 yr Hi Nic, I would think there would be no difference in the lighting than say for instance a TFS model. The new buses have pretty much a standard light (fx) set up in the aircraft configuration file. I am currently using the Boeing models (at least a few liveries for each) and have seen no issues with them. I hope this helps and suggest backups just in case - always. If you are referring to a modified halo.bmp, and such, then you should be good. Best regards, Mel
August 5, 201312 yr Remind us again: what did you have to do, to change the triangle effect? Excellent question. Inquiring minds............................. I remember this being a very much discussed issue. Regards, Mel
August 8, 201312 yr Remind us again: what did you have to do, to change the triangle effect? One has to edit every one and single AI model with an HEX editor and remove some lines. Look for a thread about it in which '3green' user helped us a lot. It had been proven to have no unwanted effect on the models and nearly all AI models are covered. Here the thread in question: http://forum.avsim.net/index.php?/topic/265681-Landing-lights...and-fog
August 8, 201312 yr AH yes... now I remember why my AI are not yet converted in this way KiwiFlyer was going to make a Big Project out of this, *next semester* You'd hope that new AI models take all this into account. To answer the question: there is a triangle, but a faint one at close quarters, which becomes more pronounced with view distance. I'm happy enough with it.
