PMDG 777 Walking in the cabin

Hi simmers!

 

Will it be an opportunity to walk around the cabin or is it juts the box where it says PMDG when you walk outside of the cockpit?

 

 

Ex... Here is the cabin in the 777 freighter...

Would be great if they modelled that so you can walk back there on long flights! :lol:

The answer to this is no. There won't be a cabin modelled from the interior, but by the looks of it there is a cabin modelled in the exterior model. 

 

The main reason they are not modelling a cabin/door to get into the cabin is because of security reasons. I think a while back Rob mentioned this.

Aaah.. Okay.. But that would be nice, but the most inportant part of the interior is the VC.

It does, if they model the cockpit door and all its mechanisms then it can be a possible security risk. Just think about it. 

 

They wouldn't model a cabin anyway due to the poly's being used up too much...

But what about QW 757. There you can walk in the cabin. I think.

That will be the CS 757, yes you can walk in the cabin there, but why would you want to?!

They wouldn't model a cabin anyway due to the poly's being used up too much... 

 

The small cabin on the Freighter should be within the possibility for even FSX. It doesn't have to be uber high detail like the cockpit.

 

As for needing to model the entire locking mechanism - that is a tad absurd. Just a cockpit door locking switch on the flight deck is all that is required (and is accurate to real-world, too).

 

If it would be too much of a perf hit then fair enough, but security reasons is just laughable.

I would guess it is a resource thing. PMDG is pushing the envelope of FSX, better than anyone else. I believe there is an understanding about not showing the innings of the cockpit door locking mechanism, but I don't think these two thing actually is related.

To do more than just stare in cockpit. Take a walk and explore the cabin.

But as I mention before, the VC is the most important thing. So I will rather have Best quality in VC than less quality in VC and cabin interior. ;)

Hypothetically, they only need to model the door, and if it is locked and you click on it, nothing happens. If it is unlocked and you click on it, then it opens.

 

Nothing security related to that at all, and simple to do.

 

Also, if a security system relies on security through obscurity, then it is pretty crap to start with, and likely offers no real security whatsoever. Real security systems can stand up to the attacker knowing how they work, and still do the job.

Totally agree!

And why is that a risk to make Freighter Interior. It's not a commercial plane. It's a cargo plane. It's a crew of 3 people and sometimes 1 or 2 passengers in the airline.
