August 9, 201312 yr Commercial Member -We do not model an opening cockpit door because that would require that we model the area visible aft of the cockpit door. To do that would mean removing resources from the virtual cockpit, where we can make good use of them, and putting them outside the virtual cockpit where they are largely wasted. Makes sense. Best regards, Robin.
August 9, 201312 yr Quoted From Rob's posts back in May: "-We do not model the new cockpit doors for reasons related to security. -We do not model an opening cockpit door because that would require that we model the area visible aft of the cockpit door. To do that would mean removing resources from the virtual cockpit, where we can make good use of them, and putting them outside the virtual cockpit where they are largely wasted. -We deliberately remove all functionality related to post 9/11/01 cockpit security enhancements and return them to their earlier condition. -We very carefully scrub from our models anything that might give you an idea how they work or how they are operated. -The reasons for doing that are obvious, and it just happens that this provides our partner airlines with a greater degree of trust in the fact that we know what we are doing when it comes to protecting their security." Exactly, and this has nothing to do with modelling the cabin. Making a "VC" of the cabin would increase the VAS load way too high.
August 9, 201312 yr Airport and aircraft security ddoesnt make sense "Weapons are not allowed onboard, and 30 minutes after take off they give you the weapon themselves, knifes and forks for the hot meal" quoted from george carlin in on of his shows Haha just sharing his sense of humor I understand how security is really important and thanks to PMDG for considering that I agree with them Moe ELkarout
August 9, 201312 yr If you want to experience flying in the cabin, load the CS777. If you want to experience flying the airliner, load the PMDG 777. No worries. Robert Yunque PilotEdge Ratings = CAT-11 (2016-09-13) I-11 (2016-10-23) V-3 (2016-08-01)
August 9, 201312 yr LOL! Worst reason ever! It makes no difference to "security" whatsoever. Best regards, Robin. At the end of the day we are flight simmers who love aviation, not terrorists trying to find out how to hijack and crash a 777. Terrorist hijackers don't care about EFBs, ECLs or have any idea of what an ILS, DME or VOR is which is why I think CaptainSim got all these wrong 'on purpose' Lionel
