My new Saitek yoke....need tips on install

Featured Replies

Greetings all,

After years of procrastination, I FINALLY bought a new Saitek yoke/rudder system. Before I start installing it, any suggestions/tips/pointers which might be useful? I don't want to install things and then have to backtrack and do it all over again.  I also bought an extra throttle, so how would I incorporate that into the system?  I'll be using it mostly with the PMDG planes.

Many thanks.

That is the system  I have and it works great. Here is a great guide for setting it up for the NGX

My Saitek yoke works beautifully with all of my planes (PMDG, Carenado, FSL, RealAir etc.). It's pretty much a plug and play apart from a bit of configuration. I really don't see what the included CDs do, but go ahead and install them just to be on the safe side. Once you've done that, head on over to the FSX controls menu and to the "Control axes" tab. Starting off with the throttle configuration: To assign the extra throttle, select "Saitek Pro Flight Throttle Quadrant". The throttle that came with the yoke is hidden in the "Saitek Pro Flight Yoke" part of the drop down box.

So, that's pretty much it. Good luck and happy flying!

Thanks,

Kevin L

Saitek has a guide on their site which I used when setting up mine. Trust me, its is NOT easy. If you like to slew, then you need to mess around with the settings more in depth.
