August 10, 201312 yr Try turning off "User account control" ( UAC) in win 7 control panel, also it helps to make sure any software is installed outside of the usual Windows "Programs" folder as win7 restricts access to a lot of the " programs" sub folders. Choosing "Run as administrator" when you start rc4 can help but it wont overcome all the UAC issues. Mike
August 10, 201312 yr Author thank you for your reply ..but have already done it ..the UAC is off....sic

August 10, 201312 yr Set up a shortcut to RCv4.exe. Right click on it and select properties, then click Advanced. Chick the checkbox for run as admin to check it. Ok the change, then in the forst window click Apply, then OK. This gives RC application level access of admin, not user access level, a different class of privilege. Make sure your path to FS is correct. Mine is "h:\program files\microsoft games\flight simulator 9". If you are on a network where RC is on a client to a WideFS FS host your path can be by the network host name to the shared folder. You also need network read/write/delete/exe access rights to the host FS folders. If you are a new user you need first to update fsuipc ( h:\program files\microsoft games\flight simulator 9 ) and makerwys.exe ( http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66136-useful-additional-programs/ ) which are much newer than the versions distributed with RC. Be sure you install makerwys.exe in your FS folder and fsuipc.dll in your FS\modules folder. If you are not in the network setup answer NO to the are you on a WideFS prompt or yes if you are.on'y forget if you are on WideFS to first run makerwys.exe in your FS folder first before starting the scenery rebuild in RC. For running RC be sure you have browsed to your flight plan folder (the default for flt.\wx files) and if not the same as where you load plans when loading a plan browe to that folder. To create a data recovery to avoid a reinstall of two major files, create a folder called data-backup under RCv4 or RCv4x. From rcv4 or RCv4x copy keyboard.dat and rcv3.dat to that new folder. The reason is rcv3.dat occasionally can corrupt if cancelling out of a path browse instead of OKing it when setting paths.
