Version 6.34 has major issues for me
No, not the case. VoxAtc uses the MS speech engine within which voices are installed locally. Also the program is connecting locally to the sim , no networking involved. Since I made this post Tegwyn West of VoxAtc is on the case and has asked my to do some diagnostics. Hopefully a solution will be available in due course. I mentioned in my original posting that V6.2 is completely smooth and stable, its only the update that has issues for me Mike

Version 6.34 has major issues for me
Hi Folks, I have been trying the Version 6.34 after updating from 6.2 which I have used almost daily since it was released. Unfortunately it has been a thoroughly disappointing exercise for me in both FSX and my installation of P3D v2.2. I know that version 6.2 had some functional shortcomings but at least it worked faultlessly from the start of the flight until the finish. The new version however has meant that I have yet to complete a flight with it. Problems in FSX are: 1. Stalls and simply stops giving any instructions about 5 minutes into the flight, if I keep disabling and re-enabling it starts again at the beginning of course. The only fix I have found is to wait until I am under way at the end of my SID and start it on route. This gives it life for a few minutes until it all stops again. 2. Voices are chopped and stutter and responses slow down to a crawl. I am using a selection of Ivona and Cerevoice voices, all of which function perfectly and fluidly in V6.2. 3. With V6.34 running I get stuttering and frame rate loss in FSX which doesn't happen at all with 6.2 The Problems in P3D v 2.2 are the same with the added issue that if I try to use Flight plans in the usual .pln format which I use in FSX and normally in P3D once I try to enable VoxatcX 6.64 it crashes with an error message to the effect that there is a flight plan formatting error, the same plans load in the FSX version with no problem. I have done uninstalls and clean reinstalls many times with this new version but to no avail, still the problems exist. I have of course carried out all the usual re-indexing, panel loading etc. I have now reverted back again to version 6.2 and have parked my P3D simulator until these issues are resolved. Setup in both FSX and P3D v2.2 is: Navdata Pro Cycle 1309 installed for Level D 767 Ifly 737NGX cockpit builders edition Active Next weather Windows 7 64bit Nvidia GeForce 640 I7 processor 16gb Ram Mike

Voxatc with Prepar3D v2
I managed to get it working as far as having the program respond, moving the gauge files fixed that. It doesn't recognise the flight plans however. So its a no go at this stage for me as well. Mike

Voxatc with Prepar3D v2
Any body managed to get it working with P3D v2? I can't find a way to install it. Sent a request to the support site. Mike

Configuration Observations and Tips
It works for me! Since copying the UIAutomationcore.dll from fsx into p3dv2,no more crashes using the menus. Mike

Is default ATC ok with you?
Radar contact v4, PF emulator, default fsx, default P3D, Proatcx - I've bought and tried each of these over the years in my attempt to get realistic atc without resorting to the online atc community. Eventually I found VoxAtc! In my opinion its as close to real as it gets, not perfect but with the addition of a few Ivona voices and a bit of time spent reading up and learning correct atc phraseology, it gives me complete and convincing immersion. There are still periodic updates being released and the forum support is excellent. It's not cheap once you start adding voices but nonetheless well worth the money. Mike

Brake issue Prepar3d
I had this problem with my rudder /brake pedals. Solution was to tick the reverse box in the joystick axes assignments panel for the brake axis. Previously brakes always on, now off until the pedal depressed. Saitek rudder pedals used. Regards Mike

Can't get it to work
Hi, this is not unusual with this program! None of the Microsoft voices work for me except Anna, I also have a couple of cereproc voices but one causes the program to crash. However I have 5 Ivona voices which all work very well and are the most realistic in terms of truly natural speech. Ivona voices are not cheap but bought in a bundle deal are better value. They are the best though! Mike

P3D and a Six Hour Flight
I've been doing some comparisons of long flights using both FSX and P3D V1.4. I have identical scenery, aircraft (iFly737 737 pro edition), MCE, VoxAtc, Gsx. My system is i7 with 8gb ram and a high end graphics card. All settings are at the high end for both sims. Results are that both sims will complete a 3hr flight ksea to klas using default scenery. Monitoring the memory allocation when the flight is running shows more or less the same, however if I use the fsdreamteam scenery for klas, P3D goes bust with the out of memory message as soon as I turn on to the locasliser, but fsx continues ok with a little stuttering now and then and a small frame rate drop. Memory allocation and vas is almost identical between the two. Conclusion is that P3D is very fragile with pay ware airport sceneries. I've repeated the flights several times to confirm the results, even turning down the texture and lod setting on the P3D doesn't help with the payware airport sceneries, still OOM. Regards Mike

Perfect flight!
Hi folks, you know when something goes really well and you want to tell somebody! Well I just finished what is probably the best flight yet in my iFly737 hardware cockpit. Flew from ksea to klas, used PFPX to plan the flight, used topcat to sort out the load, fuel and balance, used MCE to keep the Co pilot busy, used Gsx to handle all the ground stuff and of course VoxAtc for the atc. Everything went perfectly. Got the right runways and sid, right altitudes, descents and vectors to the right runway at klas. Opus gave me the weather. The sim was P3D. V1.4. Another nice thing was that I set up the Co pilot voice in VoxAtc to use the same Ivona voice that I use for the Co pilot in mce. AI traffic was set at 50%, in VoxAtc and used the models from MyTraffic 2013, really nice. I now know that if I plan it right and fly it right, everything works together nicely. Just wanted to tell someone! Regards Mike

Change Cruise Altitude
I tried asking for a speed increase on a vectored approach to kpdx. originally given 180 knots, asked for 205 knots. Controller gave no reponse other than the usual "last aircraft repeat ........" I am going to carry on trying things out. I reckon if its on a "0" menu somewhere you can ask for it. We'll see! Mike

How is traffic generated?
Hi, I managed to get MT2013 working in my P3D setup by some copying over the appropriate folders from fsx. I don't want anything else than for VoxATC to use the models and correct airport aircraft population. I think the magic with voxatc using the models lies in this line in the fsx.cfg file SimObjectPaths.7=MyTraffic\aircraft Once I had this in place in the p3d cfg file and also a pointer to the mt2013 scenery in the scenery.cfg file, voxatc placed a whole bunch of Alaska airlines planes around me at the gate in KSEA. Just right! Regards Mike

Ivona Still the Best Voice Pack Choice?
Where do you change ivonas pronunciation? I have a number of these voices but can't find anyway to correct the mispronunciations. Mike

Suggestions
Hi Folks, I wonder if it might be possible to start a list of the "undocumented" phrases and requests that can be made by voice without use of the 0 key . Requesting a specific altitude is going to be very useful, I never thought of trying it. Regards Mike

Push to talk button

Cost and Support for VoxATC
Hi, I am really hooked on this program, in spite of a few irritations! I bought the download version as I only fly in the usa. I bought a discount bundle of us voices, five in all from ivona. They are truly excellent, I genuinely forget that they are synthetic when they speak. Mike

Push to talk button
I tried this method and it certainly works as a "push to stop listening" button and solves the voxatc atc comms problem but I still get interupted when any stray noises or talking is picked up. What I was really after is a "push to start listening" button. Regards Mike

Vox with PFPX
I don't have any real problems with misdirected altitudes or incorrect rw assignments flying my IFL737 cockpit and using pfpx plans. I have all the flightsim ai turned off and just use the injected ai from voxatc set at a high density , weather seems to match the rw choices pretty well. sometimes I get instructed to climb a little after starting a descent, this usually happens as I approach the first way point of my arrival star. This is a little annoying and I have yet to work out quite why it happens. However I am also very much enjoying the program. Regards Mike

Push to talk button
Hi Folks, I wonder if anyone has managed to configure a push to talk button to explicitly let the Co pilot hear what you are saying to him and cut out recognition on release. I am using a couple of addons which use voice recognition, voxatc for one, and the Co pilot keeps thinking I'm talking to him. Constantly enabling and disabling recognition with the mouse on the control panel is a pain. Regards Mike

SP3.2 for iFly 737NG
Hi, ifly support the P3D version through the ticket system on the Flight1 website. The reason as I understand it is that the as P3D is not licenced for use as entertainment, flight1 provide the P3D licenced version of the ifly737 as commercial product with its own support structure. I have also been advised that the 3.2 update will be available for the p3d in due course and will be made available on the flight1 website. Regards Mike

Making the Co pilot more professional
Hi, that's the stuff I would like some control over so as to cut out some of the annoying sarcasm and irritating off hand comments. Its not enough to put me off using the program but I much prefer the straightforward responses you get with fs2crew. Mike
