Cost and Support for VoxATC

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm looking into VoxATC & thinking of giving it a try.

Can anyone please tell me

1) why does it cost £45 on voxatc.com, and £85 on rcsimulations.co.uk ? It certainly looks like the full version for £45 on the voxatc site, & I don't fancy paying £85.

and

2) Is there no official support site? I see lots of good comments about the software, but I also see lots of annoying points mentioned in this forum, and I'd really like to see one of the developers responding somewhere, to get an idea of what is being addressed in the future, but I have not seen them do so here at VatSim.

Thanks

Keith

I think the difference in prices comes from a boxed version as opposed to a download version?

I've had very few support issues. Once I contacted the developer via the contact form on his website and I got a quick and very comprehensive reply.

If you're expecting support issues you really should try the demo version first.

Sorry, can't comment any further.

What happened to AVSIM

The boxed version from RC simulations includes 2 payware Text to Speech voices from AT&T, as well as some additional UK airspace features, as listed here:

If you are thinking of buying additional TTS voices in the future or want UK specific ATC phraseology then the boxed version maybe a good value for money, otherwise stick with the download version and save £40 like I am planning to do!

well, so far I've only had chance to try it very briefly (download version), but I am impressed with the basic operation of it, i.e. the voice recognition and the format of the sentences seems to be 'comfortable' and immersive somehow; but not so impressed with the voices (quantity or quality), and it also seems to slow my system down a bit as well, so more testing is needed here.

I would really like to find some voices that are just a bit better, l don't expect miracles but even RC4 sounds a bit better, and MCE is far superior.

It would also be good to be able to try a demo of ProATC x to compare, but I don't think there is a demo for that.

Ivona voices are the best I've found for VOX. They're not inexpensive but they're good.

Hi, I am really hooked on this program, in spite of a few irritations!

I bought the download version as I only fly in the usa.

I bought a discount bundle of us voices, five in all from ivona. They are truly excellent, I genuinely forget that they are synthetic when they speak.
