Ivona Still the Best Voice Pack Choice?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've looked through the forum and Ivona appears to be the best option for controller voices with Vox ATC.  Has anyone found any other good options, and perhaps an option that has static/filter built in?

Just checking in with others before I make the Ivona purchase.

Thanks!

Thanks.  I've been using VoxPop for a while now, but most of my flights are in North America, so the European accents aren't immersive enough for me anymore.  It looks like Ivona is still the best choice for payware voice packs ... However, I can't find any with static filters other than VoxPop.

The quality of IVONA is incomparable.   I tried all the free ones and the other pre-sale demos.   I eventually bought the IVONA 5-pack.   VOXATC does a great job randomizing multiple voices that are installed giving you a realistic sense of going from controller to controller.

PA 28 to P A 28, etc is unbeatable.

Volume, speed of each speech can be changed too, so with

these for Controllers, and the free voices for AI pilots,

it's not perfect; but it's pretty close.:-)

I can not agree strongly enough. I do use the VoxPop voices as well (exclusively for other aircraft) but all my ATC's are Ivona as are a few of the Aircraft.  I picked up some foreign voices with really thick accents from Ivona as well and assigned them to aircraft to help with the illusion of international pilots from around the world and I LOVE IT.

Good Flying,

May your Sim flights be plagued with bad weather, damaged landing gear, low oil pressure, and engine failure… and may your real flights endure none of the like.

Where do you change ivonas pronunciation? I have a number of these voices but can't find anyway to correct the mispronunciations.

Good question as I had to go remind myself how I corrected mine.

Its via the minireader/voicesettings/exceptions options.

IVONA are great quality voices. I have four myself but I do wish they could have a static effect option. I suppose flight Sim is not there priority. I also use Voxpop for pilot comms & IVONA for ATC.

is there a way of getting those 3rd party voices to sound like they are coming through a radio?

“Flying should not be a journey to the destination with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved Aircraft,

but rather to skid sideways in a cloud of smoke down the runway, engines on fire, passengers screaming, physically worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! That was one hell of a Ride and we're on Schedule!”

Wow, go on Cepstral.com and listen to William-8khz at the fast speed. He sounds amazing.

Edit: And the Indian woman from Ivona.
