  1. Hey Paul, Just jumping on this topic -- what if you are running a weather engine like REX? I use REX and is starts fsx.exe, so I am required to go through the FSX user interface to load a saved flight. My flights load with the configuration intact, but flights that are in cruise seem to take too long to initialize and I lose a decent amount of altitude and stability before I take control. Is there a recommendation for loading saved flights when FSX is started by another process? Thanks for your insight -
  2. Thanks. I've been using VoxPop for a while now, but most of my flights are in North America, so the European accents aren't immersive enough for me anymore. It looks like Ivona is still the best choice for payware voice packs ... However, I can't find any with static filters other than VoxPop.
  3. If you have at least one SID and one STAR waypoint in your plan, then Vox ATC is supposed to be able to use the Level-D navdata to figure it out.
  4. Hi, I've looked through the forum and Ivona appears to be the best option for controller voices with Vox ATC. Has anyone found any other good options, and perhaps an option that has static/filter built in? Just checking in with others before I make the Ivona purchase. Thanks!
  5. Hi - in FSBuild, the "Exclude SID/STAR" option should be on or off? I've always kept it off and entered the SID/STAR into FSBuild before building the flight plan, but perhaps that's not correct. I thought that information needed to be in the plan for Vox ATC to give me the correct SID/STAR, but maybe it's smarter than that. Thoughts?
  6. Got it - will experiment with that, just to see what happens. Thanks!
  7. I set the "No vectors to approach" option for my flight plan and Vox ATC worked fine. It did not give me any heading changes. It just gave me altitude changes on the decent that lined up well with the STAR, and it cleared me to land as expected, then I was able to fly the approach to the localizer with no issue. I did try this phrase several times on my descent, just to see what would happen: Say "<callsign> request full ils runway <rwy> approach" However, Vox ATC kept responding with "Unable to at this time".
  8. Riccardo - Thanks for your feedback. My flight plan is from FSBuild and I'm loading the route into the FMC using the FSBuild-exported flight plan, so perhaps that's the issue. Ugh! That will be frustrating for longer routes, but perhaps PFPX will solve the problem. I will try loading manually and see if that works - stay tuned. Any idea what the issue is with FSBuild-exported flight plan files? I'd be happy to try and manually fix the file if there's a known change that can be made - maybe a simple format problem? Craig - Thanks for your feedback. When you create your flight, what's your default panel state ... cold & dark? And can you save ONCE *before* takeoff, or does the one save have to happen *after* takeoff?
  9. Hi Kyle, Thanks for your feedback. Yes, I double-checked and FSX is configured to start with a different default aircraft (Ultralight), and I've tried loading the Ultralight into my departure airport, exiting the flight, then loading the saved NGX flight. I also tried starting FSX from scratch (which shows the Ultralight in the preview screen), then loading the NGX flight directly. When I save a flight through the originator flow, it will load successfully. Anything past that and it seems to be having problems when I try to load it (dead cockpit, and CDU isn't responsive).
  10. Ah, sorry about that. Just added a signature that should show up on this reply.
  11. Hi, Long-time flyer of the LDS 767 and have recently gotten into the PMDG 737NGX - love it so far! I do have one annoying issue that I'm trying to resolve though. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Short story: I have been working up one of my favorite short-haul routes and am saving it at various stages of setup in FSX, so I can return to various stages as needed. I am able to re-load a saved flight through the completion of originator flow (with ground power connected, some of the doors opened for service, fuel loaded and payload configured, etc.), and the flight deck looks great - everything is powered up correctly, etc. However, once I enter/activate my route into the FMC and save the flight at that stage, it won't re-load correctly. When I try to load that flight after saving it, FSX never goes through the PMDG initialization phase -- it just comes up cold & dark and completely unresponsive. I tried holding down the MENU key on the CDU and it's completely unresponsive. Everything seems stable, so I'm not sure if I'm not saving the flight correctly (just using the normal FSX save flight function), or if I'm missing something obvious. Quick rundown on my system basics: Intel i7 2.50 GHz (overclock to 3.2 GHz for simulations), 16GB RAM FSX SP2 with PMDG 737NGX-800 Airport Enhancement Services (which works very nicely with the aircraft) Vox ATC (also works nicely with the aircraft) EZDok Camera (terrific tool) Is there anything obvious that I might be missing here?
  12. I've had the same problem with multiple airports. I use the now-retired World of AI, and VoxATC communicates with the AI aircraft, but eventually they would stop and then disappear from the taxiway. Not very realistic. I haven't flown as much lately and need to test this out, but I think version 6.20 was supposed to include a bug fix for this: http://voxatc.com/Home.aspx/News 17 May 2013 Version 6.20 ReleasedVoxATC now supports FSX and Prepar3D. Version 6.20 will work with either simulator. The following issues are also fixed Occasionally not getting landing clearances. Fatal error occurring on landing after an emergency. Problems with making contact while enroute and when arriving during VFR flight. Taxiing aircraft disappearing when approached by the user's aircraft No response from the controller when using VoxATC without a flight plan (local flight) or when flying a helicopter.
  13. Running the indexer was how I solved this problem, because it didn't recognize all variations of the LDS 767 that I use.
  14. I think there are probably a bunch of unnamed bug fixes in this release as well. For example, I pinged support about an approach issue with Delta Airlines callsigns into KATL (won't direct me to the approach controller, arrghh), and he reviewed my log file and said that there was a fix for the issue coming with this release. Yay, can't wait to try it out. This is a really cool product, so I'm happy to see that there's enough customer demand to fuel new releases. Thanks for all of the hard work, VoxATC team (Tegwyn ... and others?)! Dan
  15. I've been using the free World of AI and it's been working fairly well so far with VoxATC. Although I see that the World of AI project is going to be discontinued soon, so if you want to try it out, you'll need to act fast: http://www.world-of-ai.com/index.php So far the only issue I've had is that some of the AI traffic generated by VoxATC is taxing on the grass and stuff at KATL (my home airport); I'm using the ImagineSim KATL 2012 scenery package, so it could be an issue unrelated to VoxATC.
