August 30, 201312 yr This is my first post as I have just signed up on Avsim cause I've tried looking everywhere for these 2 solutions. 1. SID/STARS : I am not issued any, although my AI traffic is issued. I have the navdata for levelD but not the aircraft, I read the manual and it really is vague on how to set this up. I have set the path for LevelD, when I go to SID/STAR wizard and select Flight plan I only get FS2004 flight plans dropdown(I'm using fsx so none of my flight plans shows, I tried to save it as .FLT still nothing. I use FSbuild 2.4 also which is also a pain in the butt to set with the ifly737. If someone could just show me how to set SID/STARS I'd very much appreciate it. 2.After landing and parking and gate and I wanna load a 2nd flight plan, I'm told to contact approach, I read I have to disable Voxatc before doing this and I did but still have the same problem, I even select yes to move my a/c there but still no help, the only time I think it did work was when I ended the flight altogether and went to the free flight menu and started from there did it work. If this is the only way it'd be a bummer because I use fspassengers and would like it to be realistic in the sense I unload pax and load new pax in too instead of closing and ending flight altogether. Please help! PS: I only got Voxatc this week so bear with me, lots of setting up to do though with voices and all but all worth it.
August 31, 201312 yr I can only answer some of the first part of your questions: You don't need the Level-D plane, the path to the navdata is ...\fsx root\Level-D Simulations\navdata. This is set in Vox's "Advanced settings". Saved .FLT are in ...\users\yourname\documents\Flight Simulator X Files. I also use FSBuild 2.4. It exports iFly flightplans to ...\fsx root\iFly\737NG\navdata\fltplan. Please explain why you want to "set" SID/STARs. Normally these are published procedures not to be changed. Vox will assign them to you if the flightplan is set up properly (in FSBuild - Build Options - Exclude SID/STAR) Regards, Andreas Gutzwiller
August 31, 201312 yr Hi - in FSBuild, the "Exclude SID/STAR" option should be on or off? I've always kept it off and entered the SID/STAR into FSBuild before building the flight plan, but perhaps that's not correct. I thought that information needed to be in the plan for Vox ATC to give me the correct SID/STAR, but maybe it's smarter than that. Thoughts? Dan Sloan
August 31, 201312 yr Author By 'set' I mean issued, let's say they tell me fly the 'ALTa12' SID, at this moment I'm not issued to fly a depature, just 'Fly direct to to waypoint', I've set the path for the LevelD and my AI is issued SID/STARS on their clearances but not me. So with FSbuild I must select 'exclude SID'?
August 31, 201312 yr Author I tried 'Excluding SiD/STARS' in FSbuild, still nothing. I just want to know how to receive depatures and arrivals via SID/STARS that's all. If someone can help please!!
August 31, 201312 yr Author Or could it be because I don't have the ending point of my SID and beginning of the STAR in my route? But then the manual says ATC would give those out randomly now if I know which one I'm goin to get doesn't that defeat the whole point? Plus I don't know how to add those manually using Fsx flightplanner. ANYONE????
August 31, 201312 yr If you have at least one SID and one STAR waypoint in your plan, then Vox ATC is supposed to be able to use the Level-D navdata to figure it out. Dan Sloan
September 1, 201312 yr I just use routefinder for make the route (with sid star option enabled), and i have the initial fix waypoint for the sid and star in the generated FP, and voxatc give me the sid and star everytime. Francesco cattaneo
September 1, 201312 yr Author I understand how to flight plan and export the flight plans to my aircrafts FMC but then the problem is when I use the Fsx flight planner, the points I did in my flight planner(Fsbuild) for example, don't show in the fsx flight planner it just gives me a whole different route if selecting (high-altitude airways) as routing
September 1, 201312 yr Author This is my flight plan on fsx(excuse the quality) And this is how my route looks on fsbuild, as you can see they clearly not the same though I loaded the same flight plan I built from Fsbuild
September 1, 201312 yr Kusta, Please state the following: 1. Aircraft in use. 2. Departure airport. 3. Destination airport. I will then send you a flight plan to try in VoxATC.
September 1, 201312 yr I not use VOXATC but this how its normally works: The navdata-base in the FSX default planner is outdated. You must build your flightplan in some other planner with a navdata which must be the same as VOXATC use (in this case the Level D B767 as I understand it). Save this plan in the FSX default-folder if its there your FMC finds it, but do not modify or do any other things in the default planner, and also make sure to save it in the correct folder where VOXATC will look for it. Your plan must include a valid exit- and entrypoint for your SID and STAR, ie the first fix where you will enter an airway or a direct routing and the final fix from where you will start your approach (STAR). This fixes must be a the exit/entry points of a valid SID/STAR for the airports you going to fly from/to in the navdatabase you using. By the way, the route you show in the picture looks very strange and unrealistic. I doubt any airline would plan such a route, is that from the default FSX planner? The is a free webservice called Routefinder you can use to see if a better route shows up. Regards Johnny Johnny Holmgren
September 1, 201312 yr 2.After landing and parking and gate and I wanna load a 2nd flight plan, I'm told to contact approach, I read I have to disable Voxatc before doing this and I did but still have the same problem, I even select yes to move my a/c there but still no help, the only time I think it did work was when I ended the flight altogether and went to the free flight menu and started from there did it work. It is best to have a saved flight with correct flight plan for each separate flight (close and end). You must also load passengers using FSP for each flight separately. If you are flying legs, which VoxATC cannot do, the you must treat each leg as a separate flight.
