August 12, 201312 yr Moderator Does any X-Plane guru out there know how to make the roads transparent in X-Plane. This is for compatibility with photo-scenery. I have seen it done before, e.g. in the Hawaii scenery, and it looked excellent, but would like to do this myself for the excellent scenery available from simheaven.com The only thing ruining the photoscenery for me at the moment is the road textures. I still want to keep the cars and road signs.
August 12, 201312 yr I guss you could do that by replacing all road textures with transparent textures. You can use Photoshop, Paintshop or the free Gimp for that few minutes rework. If you habe trouble I could do that later this week for you.
August 12, 201312 yr the textures are in Resources/default scenery/1000 roads/textures just create a small transparent png (e.g 16px square), makes several copies and rename each like that: CoresHighwayUS.png CoresResidentialDryUS.png JunctionsHighwayUS.png PlugsResidentialUS.png not sure about these: AsphaltMidGry512_TRN.png ResidentialPlugClean_TRN.png move the redundant .dds textures from the folder I didn't try the transp. png thing, let me know if you have any problem
