Dan had to shut the forum due to lots of issues with his host. Its still all backed up and may re appear at some point in the future. Doogie

. He is having an extended break from FSX just now. I am in touch with him now and again via email. You could try pming him via his youtube account. Think he fell out of love with the hobby after all the forum hastle and spending way to many hours doing the paint tutorials. Shame as he was a great contributor to the hobby. Doogie

Oh, I had not heard about what happened?

He got mucked around a lot by the hosts of the forum big time. Caused lots of issues, he also worked himself some crazy hours to the point of burnout doing all those tutorial videos. Think he just needed to take a step back from it all. Trust me Dan was one of the hardest working guys in the community, he used to sit up for days on end without sleep doing those repaint videos and others. 

We all have to take a break now and then, especially when something fun starts taking over your life. Been close to it myself the last few months, between beta testing and VA commitments.

Ok, I see.

I do not understand why the forum hosts would do that ... but it is probably best for me not wonder at this point.

Yes, that is what I noticed in my past post readings on the forums.

I just started learning aircraft repainting again and had a bit of a time locating Dan's original PMDG written tutorial in the forums here.
I finally got the search results and then the video link ... For joy!

I am now consulting several different tutors to get going...
