Thank you Richard  - I have the ini settings exactly as you quote. But regarding my start up, I have MCE set to start automatically with FSX. I will change that now, and start MCE after I am laoded & at the gate, and see if it changes things,

You can follow DrumsArt guidance above.

Be aware, starting from version 2.5.6.2 (the very latest release) a trip to the mce.ini is no longer necessary.

Relevant options are exposed in a new "Advanced options" accessible via the <more options> button on the General tab of the UI.

By default MCE will assume you'll be using GSX, and if it's installed, will attempt to kick-start it. This obviously won't work if engines are already running or the parking brake isn't set as GSX itself is no-go without these items properly set.

If no GSX is availbe it's back to Native mode.

If you prefer to always use AES, tick the option "interface AES" in the new "Advanced options" panel

Options "keep mech on push" means you want to keep MCE mechanic while pushing under GSX or AES.

At any time, you can always tell mechanic

"ground you may disconnect now"

"mechanic you may leave now"

Remember, using Voxscript" you can devise any custom trigger sentence to accomplish the above.

And yes, MCE is aware when you're using specific FSDT scenery which has the "YouControl" feature.

Richard,

thanks, that seems to be the missing link.

So It is essential to start MCE after arriving at the gate, and then it all works smoothly - do you know what would happen on further flights in the same fsx session? (say for instance, I change the time and date in the fsx menu, or go to another airport, do I then need to restart MCE, or is it just at the start of the first flight in any fsx session?).

Gerald, it's worth making a mental note of this, if you set MCE to start automatically with FSX and you use GSX, then it is definitely going to end in a nasty accident for the ground crew :) Maybe this could be rectified in a future update? But anyway, it is solved by starting MCE manually once the aircraft is at the gate.

Thanks again, it's good to finally know how to get rid of this problem :)

regards

Keith

EDIT

Sorry Gerald, I managed to miss your post somehow.

That also helps clear it up for me, I have the latest version but forgot to check the new menu items,

thanks again,
Keith

I just took off from Las Vegas, NO injuries, the entire ground crew are out on the tarmac waving flags and cheering, I can see them from up here, even the previously injured ones in wheelchairs are waving   :)

Keith,

Glad it working for you !

For the moment I don't know. Don't worry about that. Try, if it don't work, just shutdown and relaunch MCE !
