August 25, 201312 yr Not important, but I always wondered why I had to move the nav light switch aft to activate the strobe. So I checked one of our 737-900's yesterday and the strobe light is actually in the fwd position, which makes sense that you move all switches fwd for take off. Just something I noticed. August 25, 201312 yr Customer option.... In our NGs, you have to move the switch aft. Perhaps it's also indicative of the time when they rolled of the production line, maybe Boeing made a change somewhere along the way. In any case... Does it really matter? The wheelwhell and wing light switches will stay aft most of the time too, so not all switches are forward ;-) Name available upon request

Doug Morlan Is there only 1 switch for both nav lights and strobes in the plane you looked at? As Thomas said above, it's a customer option whether to have that in 1 switch (as modeled in the NGX) or 2 separate switches, 1 for nav and 1 for strobes. Now if you have the 2 separate switches, then yes forward will be on. Steve Caffey
