August 27, 201312 yr Robert in his post earlier this week mentioned a "cruise compression" feature for the 777. I don't think I had seen reference to this before. Is much known about this feature? How does it work? How is it different from simply a X4 FSX setting? Anyone in the beta or development team used it and wish to comment on it? Thanks, Doug (A pilot with little time to cruise... ) Doug Orvis PP-ASEL-IA (USA), Based at KHEF Picture courtesy of Kyle Rodgers
August 27, 201312 yr It's been previewed in quite a few of the Beta videos, actually. Froogle has one on his Youtube channel where you can clearly see it in action. Name available upon request

Thanks, Doug (A pilot with little time to cruise... ) To put it very simply it's a feature that is built inside the plane and will control the FSX Time Acceleration. If there is anything wrong like sudden wind change, or big turn incoming, or change of level for step climbs it will automatically reduce to 1x and reaccelerate after that. That means the aircraft path and the fuel consumption won't be impacted by that acceleration. It's really a pretty neat feature. Aurelien Vandoorine
August 27, 201312 yr It also slows down around flightplan waypoints, so any flight tracking addon (offline ATC, for example) should work properly alongside. What happened to AVSIM
