August 27, 201312 yr I have stayed away from the fighters, basic cub and c46 because of no cockpit. I just reviewed all 100+ pages of the fourm (OMG I need a life) and I come across the CTRL+Q / CTRL+E trick to get into the cockpit. If one changes views I have to re position again but that isn't too bad and I can use the hat switch to look around. I flew around for an hour like this last night and was quite pleased with it and this Sunday I will be using a warbird with the FSFlights group flight so I can keep up with you guys for once. My question is, is there a way I can use my track ir in that cockpit position? When I enable the TIR it places me in front of the nose. Any help here would be nice. Side question, is there a way to snap your look forward after panning around with the hat switch? Overall what do you guys do? Thanks Moe
August 28, 201312 yr Side question, is there a way to snap your look forward after panning around with the hat switch? Options -> Controls -> eyepoint (reset) set to any key or button u want sry no help on the tracker (I don,t have one) :(
August 28, 201312 yr Yes, you can use TrackIR with any camera view in MSFlight. To reposition the default point of view check this tutorial: http://forum.avsim.net/tutorials/article/62-adjusting-your-default-view/ But pay attention, it changes the view for all aircrafts, so make a backup to undo if required. Look forward after panning around: Backspace ( resets direction, but also position to default view)
August 28, 201312 yr Author Thanks. Read the procedure and never realized there were sections in the tutorials for MS Flight. Seems like a straight forward enough procedure for me. I will be seeing how much I can muck up those configs tonight. Don't worry I will backup first. Moe
August 29, 201312 yr For TrackIR, if you lean way forward and hit the "recenter TrackIR" button, when you lean back you might find yourself in the fake cockpit. It will probably take some time to find the exact right spot to lean into, though. Or just edit your camera.cfg file as mentioned. I'm glad somebody's still getting some use out of that document.
