TURBULENCE AND CROSSWINDS

Featured Replies

Hi,

I use Active Skt 2012 and have turbulence and ground winds checked.  I have never experienced turbulence in cruise, or crosswinds on landing or takeoff.  I also have the FSUIPC weather turned off. Are there any settings I need to  adjust to have this more realistic?

Thanks

Rob

Never had crosswinds on the runway ?  Are you saying your wind direction is always dead in line with the runway, or you never have surface winds ?

Not sure which.  I don't seem to have had crosswinds that affect the aircraft that I can tell.  Perhaps you can tell me what setting you have in FSX, FSUIPC and Active Sky 2012 that produces crosswinds and or turbulence.  Probaly don't have surface winds - not sure, hence my post.

Just use default settings for that. It works for me and I know a bunch of people who using the same and have nice turbulence and wind shift effects with AS2012 SP2.

BUT I don't impose this idea.

Because there's also much of other folks who encounter problems caused by turbulence on all PMDG products (s-turns, overspeed, altitude overshoot). Not sure what settings and software they have, but both introductory manuals of AS and NGX recommend to switch off all turbulents effects.
