You would be better off posting in the CTD subforum.

These files are what Microsoft techs would look at if there was real world error reporting.  That does not happen.  What you need to do is download and run AppCrashView - http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/app_crash_view.html and paste the error report here so we can take a look at it and maybe analyze the cause for the crash.

You also need to let us know some system information and what operating system are you using.  Whether it is a 64 bit or 32 bit version, etc.

I'm also moving this to the CTD forum.  Thank Chuck!

Best regards,

Jim

Yes, unfortunately, AppCrashView is not compatible with XP.  The code oxc0000005 is common with almost all FSX crashes.  It means that FSX was trying to render or call up a file or texture or gauge or whatever and could not find it.  Most likely your fsx.cfg is the issue.  Have you tried renaming your Fsx.cfg, restarting FSX and letting the config rebuild?  This fixes many problems with fsx as individuals place a lot of tweaks in their configs that are not compatible or set too high or the setting is wrong.  The only one you really need is highmemfix=1 in the Graphics section of the fsx.cfg.  You should look in the Event Viewer too for potential issues.  An event is recorded every time you do something with your computer and it could give you valuable information as to what might have caused your crash.  If you recently added an addon and then the crashes started or you just installed a new video card driver, that should be the main suspect to your problems.

That's about all the only suggestions I can provide for you.  I've been saying for a long time now that fsx works great when you first install fsx and maybe Acceleration too.  Then you start adding things, aircraft, scenery, and stuff and start tweaking the fsx.cfg and things start going south after that.  Any crash you get must be investigated by you as you are the owner and most knowledgeable about what is on your computer.

Best regards,

Jim

Thanks, Jim.

Lots of suggestions, some I know. Fortunately, I have more than 1 backup of FSX. I learned my LESSON(S) from past experiences. I will follow your advice and suggestions, it's good to solve difficult situations. I am also curious to find out exactly what happened. If I do, I'll post it.

Thanks, again, Jim.
