August 30, 201312 yr Hi guys looking for a bit of help but not sure what or how to proceed I have my main pc that has fsx running on it that runs on win 7 64 bit I also have a laptop that's not used much that runs on windows vista 32bit I would like to be able to link the two machines together for certain parts of fsx ie the new pfpx and possibly Opus however I have a problem in that I don't know how to proceed fully My main pc is linked by cable to my router and the laptop accesses the router by wifi both machines can see each other and I'm able to view and use the basic files and folders within the public folders , because I'm using win 7 on one and vista on the other I can't seem to use the homegroup networking as according to windows help all the machines must be win 7. I've tried sharing my fsx folder with homegroup and after a bit of trial and error my laptop can see the folder but it says that I don't have the correct permissions even though both computers are set at administrator rights and I've got the settings set for all read/write . I clicked on advanced sharing for the folder that contains fsx and did a search for my laptop but because its on the network but not the homegroup I can't change anything to let my laptop use the folder can some one please tell me how to proceed hope this all make sense many thanks for any advice you can give I'm not very good with networking so please dumb it down a bit if you can rgds Pete Little
