Hi all

 

I am using the xml.exe file to start an external program when FSX starts and this works OK. The program runs after FSX shuts down to get data from it but if I run FSX again it opens another. Is there any way to stop the program launching again with one already running.

Actually, that's a function of your program for it to detect that an instance is already running and to NOT launch another one.

It's not my program, So I'll leave it and turn it off manually

 If you have a registered version of FSUIPC you could add an auto run entry in to the FSUIPC.ini and skip the exe.xml - or a mix of the 2 . ( see page  44 of "FSUIPC4 for Advanced Users.pdf" )

[Programs]
RunIf1=READY,"PATH TO EXE IN QUOTES" 

RunIf = Run only if it isn't running already

Ready = If not running already, run it when FSX is ready.

 

 

That's a great idea I'll give it a try.
