Saitek button problem?

Featured Replies

I am not sure this is a LINDA problem, but its driving me nuts.

I have a button on one of my Saitek Quadrants assigned to a keypress Ctrl+W through LINDA (JS41 profile).

When I press this button the condition levers are moved full forward and the Weather radar is turned on. Only the latter action is desirable.

This does not happen when i press Ctrl+W on my keyboard. Then only the Weather radar is turned on.

The Saitek button is not assigned to anything in FSX and I have also checked the Controls.xml file.

Neither is this button activated through FSUIPC.

Any ideas?

Hello,

as you say you have surely controled that there is no dpule assigning ...?

Have you tried to try this with another button on your joystick if it also happens there then?

Try assigning the key command again in Linda, sometimes I find that it doesn't work so brilliantly with Key Presses. I think what is happening is that Linda is sending just the W on its own. It's best not to ever use key presses if you can help it though try and assign direct to an FS Control, Mouse Macro or L:Var.

Also make sure you are using at least FSUIPC 4.91 there were some bugs in it regarding modifiers sometime in the last 12 months if I remember correctly.

The last resort is to assign the key presses in FSUIPC itself rather than through LINDA, I found that that usually works if you absolutely must use key combinations.

Cheers, Andy.

I have latest FSUIPC.

I have one button assigned to Radar On (Ctrl+W) and one button assigned to Radar Off (Ctrl+M).

Radar On has this problem but not Radar Off.

I will try assigning another button for Ctrl+W.

I also uninstalled the Saitek software (not drivers).

So next flight will show if the problem persists.

If so I might try going through FSUIPC.

Thanks

Michael

An update on this problem.

I added the Ctrl-W keypress to another button on the Saitek Quadrant and got the same result as before.

Condition levers are pushed full forward. Ctrl-W on the keyboard does the correct job of turning on the Weather radar without pushing the condition levers forward.

This kinda points to LINDA.

My next move is to use FSUIPC for this function, although having two setups are not optimal.

I have a similar issue using my warthog throttle, I have mapped throttle to warthog lever with fsuipc that works however there is a small button on a switch in front of the right hand throttle lever that for some reason when even touched activates the throttle in the Cessna by A2A I don't understand no conflicts either?
