Hi all,

 

I've used SweetFX twice.  The first time it worked, but then I needed to reinstall FS, I tried again, this time it doesn't work.  When I press ScrollLock to activate the effect, nothing happens.

 

I tried looking around for some time but got no luck, nor was I sure where could it be wrong, where should I start troubleshooting...

 

I know this is an open question, but if you had any experience with this, I'd love to hear about it.

 

Some side info, I basically installed FSX (tuned and tweaked as well) then I install SweetFX1.4.  That is all.  When I did that I tried to run FSX to see if the effect works, and it doesn't.

 

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

if you installed the simulator not only but also the operating system must update the directX. Another possible problem is that there is something wrong written in the setting and this does not work.

si usted instalo no solo el simulador sino que tambien el sistema operativo debera actualizar el directX. Otro posible problema es que haya algo mal escrito en el setting y esto hace que no funcione.

In FSX, is ANTI-ALIASING ON or OFF? This must NOT be checked ON.

I can't get SweetFX to run in DX10 mode myself.   Works just fine if I flip back to DX9 but no dice in DX10.    And that is with AA off, on, sideways, upside down, left and right.    Will not work and it's suppose to work with DX10 games.   Am i missing something here myself?

Strange, I am using DX10 as a test flight, and using it just fine. Are you gents using a vanilla SweetFX settings file?

Not sure what that is... I'm using what SFX came with, did nothing to it except for just install and run, aiming to see it works before start playing around with the settings.

For troubleshooting, I did indeed use the Settings.txt file right out of the box and when I hit the Scroll Lock toggle nothing happens in the FSX preview screen.   It is baffling me... and making me want to punch puppies (and I love puppies!) after all I've done today.    I have been bloody trying to get this game stable at 30 FPS with Frame Limits and its so close.  It's like a carrot being dangled in front of my face.
