As the title says?

When i try & browse to it, all i seem to see is a Chrome message asking to translate from RUSSIAN into English, with the rest of the page completely blank, with nothing else loading.

Anybody know what the issue is?

Looks like either a hack or the site is 'gone' and replaced with some SEO spam links (which is why chrome wants to translate, there are a bunch of russian language SEO links on there, but they're scooted off the visible portion of the page - so that google sees them but humans don't).

According to Facebook, they got hacked big time.

I will let one of you web wizards translate that and what it is trying to accomplish. It appears someone wants you to look folks up in various Russian phone books, if not view the entire phone book themselves.... What jabrones.

Judging from the variety and paths of the linked pages, Britsim could have been made part of a botnet for spambots or such.

Lots of these subsites seem to be labeled like functions of a phonebook webpage.

This is crazy, but it looks like a website for a phonebook company. Or at least a backup thereof.

Either someone didn't meet his deadline for installing a new server and "borrowed" some webspace or it's a blunt denial of service action.

Probably the former. It looks simple and sloppy and denial of service can be achieved much, much easier.

Hacked.. Well that sucks!

 

It appears that this is a "reverse phone lookup" for Russian cell phones. What a PITA! Hope Britsim can get it fixed, they have some good stuff there.

According to the site admin they were hacked just as he was moving house. He's waiting to get his ISP back up and running before he can sort things out.
