September 4, 201312 yr So I have built a new PC and now it comes to re-installing everything on my new SSD. If I was lay i could just plug my old HDD in (which includes OS etc), but I'd like to take the opportunity to start afresh. I have a clean Win 7 OS on my new SSD.I will uninstall FSX on my old PC and install FSX and add-ons. The issue comes to activations. Throughout the years I have moved FSX and add-ons around to different PCs. I am extremely concerned whether any FSDT product will re-install. Are they intelligent enough to release I've uninstalled them and release the activation limit? i am also concerned about the newly bought PFPX and PMDG 777.
September 4, 201312 yr I doubt that there will be problems, and if there are, I guess most serious developers (and I count all of the ones you explicitly mention as such) will help you sort issues out in case there were some. From my experience (not with one of the above, but with the FlightSimStore and ORBX) a short mail with your order number and the descriptino of your problem should suffice to have it sorted out, and I don't believe any serious developers in their right minds would charge you twice, just because you upgraded your computer or had to do a reinstall. Besides, a year and a half ago, I moved to a new computer myself, and I had no troubles at all to reinstall (except that I messed up some of my registration codes -_-, but I was able to fix that problem myself) Florian
September 4, 201312 yr Author Thats good to hear! But I rather avoid the downtime. An email or support ticket will most likely take 24-72 hours to resolve which I'm not prepared to accept at the moment.
September 4, 201312 yr You can have six (6) activations of FSDT Products every 90 days not for the lifetime of the product -http://www.fsdreamteam.com/faq.html. You can deactivate and then activate too which does not count against the activations. It's explained in each manual that comes with the product. The PMDG 777 can be reinstalled as many times as you want. You should uninstall it though as it will automatically deactivate if you are connected to the Internet. Use the Add/Remove program feature for Windows. You can then reinstall to a new system. This is explained in the Introduction manual released with the PMDG777.
