I seem to have a problem when trying to soft disconnect the AP. I tried it in a couple of flights using either the mouse click or the Z key but the AP stays on. I do not have any alarm disconnect sounds. The first time, I was already tracking the ILS. The second time, I was still on LNAV VNAV.

I finally had to use the disconnect bar to turn it off.

 

Any one with the same problem or any idea of what I could do wrong ?

CTRL + Shift + Z to disconnect. Again to silence the alarm

Or map a button to the joystick/yoke setup you have. If not, I'd use the disco button on the yoke in the sim. Just click it once - wait a second or two with the alarm going off then hit disco again to silence. 

yep that was it.. it was setup as ctrol shft z to disconect.. I set it up for z and then it worked perfectly.. I did a left pattern at ksfo

 

came around on final. hit the z key.. ap disc.. wooop woop.. wait then hit z again .. silence!

 

then shut off at with the vc switches and landed it by hand.. that is what I want to be able to do.
