Which will come first, voice or button

Featured Replies

Hi Bryan,

I have decided not to part with my money for the 777 until I have my virtual co-pilot. I does not feel right flying a tube liner on your own.

My question is, as a button user due to the fact that the PC is in the living room, will us loyal button users have to wait for the voice version to be released and then wait for that to be updated, like you have done with the Aerosoft Airbus Extended version, or will we get to buy FS2Crew button version at the same time. Or will it be both versions in one as you did with the NGX. This is an idea situation because I can sneak to the voice version when the wife is out.

It seems a shame that us button users don't get the same treatment. There is still not a button version for the airbus although you have already updated it. I know you are a busy man but it would be nice if you swapped it round this time and give us button users FS2Crew first.

It seems a shame that us button users don't get the same treatment. (...)

If the button version were first, and I were a voice control user, I'd post something like "It seems a shame that us voice control users don't get the same treatment (...)".

Whichever version is first, Bryan, it's always wrong!   :P

What happened to AVSIM

The voice control users got priority treatment with the Airbus. There's not even a button version.

It's not a case of being wrong. The NGX versions came out in one go as a complete package. Then the airbus got the voice version but no button version, then the voice version got updated and still no button version. People who use the voice version can get the button version and use that but there are lots of people who cannot use the voice version for one reason or another, either English is not there first language or the PC is not in a place to sit talking or even some people do not like sitting talking to an invisible co pilot.

I was just saying that the last FS2Crew that came out in button version was the NGX. The voice version people can have fun with the airbus for a while and it would be nice if the button version people could get playing with the 777 version.

I would have already bought the Airbus button version if it was available, but it's not. I know Bryan is a busy man and his work is amazing, support is fantastic and always keeps improving the addons.

It was just a question, I don't know why people feel the need to interject on here and try and twist things.

I can imagine a parallel release of both versions will hold up release of the version that gets finished first. And if the button control version means extra cost, the voice control fans will not buy it, but wait until release of the voice control edition.

Point taken, though, the button control edition is more versatile regarding the environment you're simming in.

I appreciate the feedback.

FYI, the only reason Button and Voice came out at the same time for the NGX was because both had their origins in the iFly.  So a lot of the ground work was already done.

For the 777, I'll try to release Voice and Button at the same time if possible, but don't count on it.

This stuff is so, so complex to do and if you rush things or try to do too much at once, everything can go to pot.

The 777 is extra complex because of its Electronic Checklist system.

Getting the FO to interface with that in a realistic way is not going to be easy.

It's totally different than the paper checklists that you're all used to.

Thank you Bryan for your response. I will probably by both of the button versions when they are available. I understand the amount of work that goes into your work and appreciate it.

At the moment my Airbus is sat in the hanger as I can't stand flying tube liners without a competent first officer (I won't even mention the one included). I couldn't stand that happening to my newly delivered 777.

About a 90 percent chance of it going that way.

If I can somehow do voice and button at the same time, I will.

That would be cool

Bryan,

For FS2Crew 777, It's the F/O that use ECL ?

The way it works in the real world.

The PF/Capt calls for the Checklist.

FO goes to the checklist on the ECL.

FO only reads aloud items in white and ticks them off.  He doesn't read the items in green.

This is much more complicated to model than the paper checklists you're all used to.

The paper checklist style is easy.

The ECL makes things much  more complex to model realistically using real 777 flight procedures.

Ok, I see.

Thank you !
