Flickering Light Behaviour in VC

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've been getting this flash/flicker of light in the VC during cruise.  This flicker doesn't always come on, it can come on and off briefly and don't come back for a few seconds, or it can do that but the interval was more like in minutes.

When the "light" flashes, the VC lights up (colour looks a bit more saturated), and quickly it goes away.  Since I've been keeping my eye closely on this forum, I can't remember seeing anyone else raised a thread about this issue, so I'm suspecting it might be my machine that's playing up, or I might have missed something.

If anyone can give me a headsup or some hint as to why this is taking place, that would be much appreciated.  It doesn't influence the aircraft, but it drives me nuts :(

Thanks in advance

Brendan

I'm using AS2012, it COULD be, but it seems a bit too regular that it flashes though?  I did set the AS option on launch to be High Altitude/IFR...

OK Here's a bit more observation (probably aligns with your diagnose); I do see a lot of lightning around broken clouds, I see light hitting the underside of the aircraft on external view, and I have a cockpit view opened to watch what happens.  What is consistent is that when the belly of the aircraft is lit up, the cockpit also lit up (briefly) as well.

So that sounds pretty much like it's the weather problem yea?

Could be but I'm experiencing the same thing every flight and in no instance thunderstorms were involved. So for me there seems to be an issue as well.

In the introduction manual it talks about settings in the pmdg options and performance section, light splashes and dome lighting, can cause problems during the day with flickering.
