Hi, I get pilot response warnings about every 10 minutes during auto flight. Check ing the handbook it's because there's been no pilot action for a set period of time. Should this not be disabled in auto cruise?

Nope.  This should be disabled by you if you don't want it.  The intro manual explains how.
