Approaching LPPT ...

Featured Replies

As I am approaching LPPT on a very short hub flight from LPPR, flown in the mighty PMDG 777, in the background X-Plane10 is being clean installed, no OSM scenery, no weather injectors, just plain vanilla X-Plane10.22, waiting for the Saab 340 :-)

Just as I did this time to FSX, I am being minimalistic about what I enable, looking in the very 1st place for a smooth ride. No fancy scenery, not even photo scenery, default X-Plane10 autogen.

The Carenados ( 3 that I have ), the MU2, DC3, C400, AS350 and FF WL 777 will be the only aircraft waiting for the Saab :-)

Flying gliders since 1980

Flightsimming since 1992

AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

I think this is a good approach, do not overload your sim!

XP10 is also my preferred Sim, I can't stand FSX default graphics like in your pic.  FTXG improved my FSX/P3D but it's still very ugly at night.  XP10 rocks day or night in HDR.

Actually, I no longer have FTX installed :-)

Just like I said, I am keeping FSX and X-Plane10 just for flight. All of the scenery sugar and effects are reduced to a minimum. I want good performance to be able to benefit from complex aircraft without stuttering or other problems, present on both sims when too many scenery objects are supposed to be displayed.

After all, when PSX get's released and if I can buy it, it'll be just a tide better than PS1 in the scenery / world graphics... ELITE has also very basic scenery, and I like it that way, so, why overloading my CPU cycles with what I do not need? In X-Plane I'm running at at least 4 flight models per frame...

I just landed at KBOS, from CYTZ in a custom King Air...

Use, and abuse both sims, even post FSXG 1.10. :)

They both have their strong points......but then so does FS9.  Long live all of 'em.....
